INTERSECTION ALTERNATIVES STATION
Intersection alternatives were developed to address the existing congestion and safety issues along the corridor and incorporate multi-modal improvements to facilitate pedestrian, bicycle, and transit movements. Each study intersection was evaluated to develop an alternative that meets the needs of the particular location as well as aids the overall corridor. The purpose of this station is to present the intersection alternatives.

Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Improvements
Access to local businesses and commercial areas can be maintained through the signalized U-turn locations.
The Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) can include pedestrian crossings that are accessible to all users.
The channelization used in the RCUT design can serve as effective refuge islands for pedestrian crossings and/or as bicycle waiting areas.
